Fishing 2008
The opening of the salmon fishing season is the 15th of January and is celebrated by the gathering of local fishermen together with fishermen from abroad.

They attend this event every year and fish Loch Tay throughout the season. Stories are exchanged and a dram or two enjoyed, before the minister blesses the boats and they cast off in hope of the first fish.

All you need to bring with you is a packed lunch, a flask and water-proofs. Alternatively, we can stop for lunch and refreshments at The Boathouse Restaurant at Loch Tay Highland Lodges on the shore of Loch Tay.
I will provide boat, fishing rights, rods, tackle and life jackets. I can also accommodate your wishes to salmon fish on the rivers, to fly fish for trout on local rivers and hill lochs, pike fishing with the fly and fly casting tuition.

Fly fishing tuition is available for beginners or tips and advice to improve your technique.
I can also provide tuition for children who are keen to take up fly fishing as a pastime or as a second activity.
I can also arrange boat hire if you prefer.
I am fully insured and MCA approved.
We can have your salmon smoked at a smoke house which specializes in rod caught salmon.
As your ghillie, I will take you down the River Lochay...

and out onto Loch Tay to fish.
